Club History

Although it is unclear exactly when the Foothills Duplicate Bridge Club was first organized, it was organized as a social bridge club at some point in the 1960's. It's possible that the club held an ACBL affliation in the 1970's under the directorship of Bob Hill, but if there was a sanction, it was allowed to lapse at some point, In 1979 or 1980, Don Greewood, Louis Auger and Carol Fitzpatrick applied for an ACBL sanction with Don acting as the director until he moved away in 1983. At that Point Carol took over as director and club manager and has held these roles ever since, (aided by assistant directors).

The bridge club hosted games in various locations including upstairs at the Legion and the library. The club then settled into its current location at the Pincher Creek Seniors Drop In Centre in th e 1990's.
